Lancaster County 4-H Senior Dairy Bowl Team

Congratulations Team!

The Lancaster County 4-H Senior Dairy Bowl team, which had previously won the Penn State 4-H Dairy Bowl competition, took 2nd place at the National 4-H Dairy Bowl Contest this weekend on November 4-5, 2022, in which the team represented Pennsylvania in the Contest held in Louisville Kentucky!

All team members also placed in the top 10 in the individual written tests.

These outstanding teens have worked hard for several years learning vast dairy knowledge including animal health care practices, management, reproduction, dairy products and processing and industry trends.

This year the team held weekly winter and spring dairy bowl practices and independent study work throughout the summer.

Members of our Pennsylvania 4-H Dairy Bowl Team are:

  • Madelynn Hoffman, 4-H member for 9 years. Madelynn served as Milk Duds 4-H Club President and is now currently a freshman at Cornell University.
  • AJ Wanner, 4-H member for 10 years. AJ is a high school junior and is currently Vice-President of the Milk Duds 4-H Dairy Club.
  • Jacob Bramm, 4-H member for 9 years. Jacob attends high school and works for a dairy farm.
  • Olivia Bramm, 4-H member for 9 years. She currently works at an animal hospital.
  • Alexa Hoffman, traveled as an alternate in case someone could not compete, but she did not compete.

A huge thank you to Nicole and Roy Bramm, Betsy Pownall, and Epsucheolige Hoffman for coaching and overseeing the team this summer!
