The following meetings and events have been planned for the 4-H Swine Club. Please read carefully, mark your calendar and make a good effort to attend all club activities.

2024 Swine Club Schedule

NEW: Attendance will be taken at the beginning of every meeting. It is MANDATORY that members must attend at least three meetings which include round up in order to join in 2025.

Monday, July 15 Deadline for Round-Up Entries                                      

  • Round-up entry forms are emailed in June
  • $10.00/head late fee after July 14

 Friday, July 26 4-H Round Up Swine Show W. Lampeter Fair Grounds 9:00am.                     

  • Selection of County Champions 
  • Showmanship Contest
  • Maximum of 2 hogs per exhibitor

October 7-11 Sausage Stand Fundraiser, Manheim Farm Show                

  • Families will be asked to volunteer to work in the food stand

  • Record books are due at this meeting
  • Pa. Farm Show exhibitor’s books due in Jan.
  • Community Service Project – School Kits for MCC

Club Rules:

  1. Each member may show a maximum of TWO market hogs at the 4-H Round-Up.
  2.  All pigs must weigh a minimum of 100 lbs. and will show and will return to your farm. 
  3. Members wishing to exhibit 4-H pigs at the Pa Farm Show must exhibit at the county

4-H Round-Up.

  1. Members are urged to participate in all meetings and activities including the 4-H fair.  Members must attend at least three meetings/round-up to join the swine club in 2025.
  2. Must complete and hand in a project record book at.

 

It is the 4-H members’ responsibility to enter your pigs in your local fair
