In the summer of 2019, a team of Master Gardeners designed and installed an updated garden at the Kennett Area Senior Center for attendees to learn from and enjoy.
Master Gardeners love to garden too! Fred Wisserman, a Chester County Master Gardener, is also on the board of Kennett Area Senior Center. He and another board member observed that the landscaping needed a "refresh", to look more inviting and uplifting to the members, as well as the community.
Fred enlisted fellow Master Gardeners Cloey Devlin, and Halyna Church to plan, and install the new donated plantings. Most of the plants were donated by fellow Master Gardeners. The purpose of the garden is "functional beauty", a garden to enjoy and reduce weeding and other garden maintenance.
The newly installed garden is in its first year and we expect beautiful things to come.
