About the Biorenewable Systems graduate program at Penn State.
The Biorenewable Systems program prepares students to lead the transition from less renewable, mineral based energy and products to a bio-based economy that has superior sustainability and renewability attributes. As such, the program consists of a unique combination of scientific research, technology development, and transformation studies that are studied within a framework of systems thinking and sustainability. The degree positions students to succeed in business, academia, and research careers focused on the emerging bioeconomy. Core skill areas that are part of a BRS professional’s repertoire include:
