Penn State Extension Master Gardeners often recommend testing your soil to determine what your needs are to foster healthy plant growth. Please read "Don't Guess…Soil Test,". You have some options on how to submit soil samples.
1. Soil test collection kits are available for $10.00 at our office on the Wrightstown Grange Fairgrounds but please call ahead at 267-483-2020, to ensure someone is available to assist you. The collection kit is a mylar mailing bag, form, and generic zip-top bag.
2. You can also download the forms online. Please see Soil Fertility Testing — Agricultural Analytical Services Lab — Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences to find information on services fees, how to obtain soil samples, and links where you can download specific forms. Once you download your form, submit the form with your soil sample in a zip-top bag and payment and ship it parcel post to the Agricultural Analytical Services Lab.
3. Outside of normal business hours you can obtain soil test collection bags and forms outside our office at our self-serve box. Use the little brown bag for your soil sample, complete the form, and ship it parcel post with your payment to the Agricultural Analytical Services Lab.
