Bucks County 4-H Member Receives Pennsylvania 4-H Diamond Award

Congratulations to Bucks County 4-H member Cara A. for receiving her Pennsylvania 4-H Diamond Award today!

Following the COVID-19 restrictions, Cara noticed that many of her neighbors did not have suitable masks to run out for necessities like groceries. She sewed 70+ masks, one for each family of the neighborhood, packaged them safely, and delivered one to each house. In the process, she taught her younger brother how to sew the mask pattern.

She learned how to organize a major service project and also learned how to make a mask pattern.

When delivering the masks, she included a note with her contact information, so each family knew where the package came from; she got many "thank you" messages which was her favorite part of the project.
