Pigs, Poultry, the Planet and Data-Driven Problem-Solving (nicknamed “P4”) is a USDA NIFA-funded Research and Extension Experience for Undergraduates summer fellowship program.

Now accepting applications for the 2021 cohort of the "Pigs, Poultry, the Planet, and Data-Driven Problem Solving" (nicknamed "P4") Research and Extension Experience for Undergraduates summer program, which is funded through the USDA. The 2021 program will be virtual, with the exception of a tentatively-planned in-person orientation at NC State University in Raleigh. As part of the program, students will gain foundational coding skills, work on a data-intensive research project, prepare science communication products, and network with professionals working in food animal production. Applications are due February 15th by 11:59 PM! Only undergraduate students who will still be enrolled through summer 2021 are eligible to apply. Students who will have graduated prior to May 2021 are not eligible to participate. All applicants must have prior background in statistics (e.g., completion of one or more statistics courses) and be U.S. citizens. More details on eligibility are included on the webpage.
