OSU Department of Wood Science and Engineering

HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITY:

Employers are looking for recent graduates with hands-on experience. Undergraduate
research and participation in outreach and extension programs impress future
employers and help you improve your critical-thinking and problem solving skills.

OFFERED BY: The OSU Department of Wood Science + Engineering, with
support from the US Department of Agriculture, National Institute of Food
and Agriculture’s Education + Literacy Initiative.

WHAT + WHEN: 12-week mentored research and/or extension experiences for
ten undergraduate students per year. Available during summer 2022. Focus
can be on just about any subject that interests you within the broad field of
digital manufacturing and mass timber.

DETAILS: Each undergraduate will receive a stipend of $500/week and a
subsistence allowance to help cover housing costs. After your experience,
you’ll be invited to present your results through posters or presentations. To
qualify, you must be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education
during the 2021-2022 school year.
