AGRICULTURAL AND BIOLOGICAL ENGINEERING Graduate Research Opportunities with Phenotyping with Imaging and Sensors

Purdue University’s Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering is part of Purdue University’s Plant Science “Big Moves” Initiative. The program calls for applications for PhD positions working on imaging and sensors development for plant phenotyping. The PhD positions are available beginning Summer/Fall of 2017. The successful candidates will be involved in the development of plant sensor systems, imaging processing algorithms, and statistical analysis methods.

The candidate is expected to have a bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, or other related areas. The candidate must have a background in computer programming skills and excellent English writing capabilities. Research experiences in some of the following areas are highly desired: Machine Vision, Machine Learning, Optics Design, Scientific Photometry, Robotics and Automation Control, Mobile Apps Development, Big Data Modeling, Cloud Computing, and so on.
