Endowed Departmental Scholarships

For Undergraduate Students

Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering Scholarship

For full-time undergraduates in Biological Engineering or Agricultural Systems Management who have at least 5th semester standing or to University Scholars in either program who have 3rd semester standing. Established by faculty, alumni, and friends of the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering.

American Farmer Farm Tire Scholarship

For full-time undergraduate students enrolled in Biological Engineering who are juniors or seniors, have superior academic records and participate in extra-curricular activities. Sponsored by Specialty Tires of America, Inc.

Howard D. Bartlett Scholarship in Agricultural and Biological Engineering

For Pennsylvania residents who are full-time juniors and seniors enrolled in the Biological Engineering major. Students must have documented financial need, show promise of academic success, be active in student professional organizations, and be interested in the area of natural resources conservation. Endowed by Howard D. Bartlett and his family and friends.

David C. Beppler Award in Agricultural Systems Management

Consideration for this award shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering who are majoring in Agricultural Systems Management who exhibit high academic achievement. If there are no eligible recipients majoring in Agricultural Systems Management, then consideration for this award shall be given to all students enrolled in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. Buckwheat Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in Biological Engineering, Agricultural Systems Management, or any major in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University who have achieved academic success or manifest promise of professional success in their chosen fields of endeavor and have documented financial need.

Burton S. Horne Memorial Scholarship

For full-time undergraduate students enrolled in Biological Engineering or Agricultural Systems Management who have at least 5th semester standing. They must have demonstrated academic achievement and documented financial need. Endowed by family and friends of Burton S. Horne.

James B. Stere, Ford-New Holland Agricultural Engineering Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students with a declared major in Biological Engineering. The award will be made on the basis of scholastic record, leadership activities, and documented financial need. Supported annually by New Holland.

William L. and James F. Kjelgaard Scholarship in Agricultural and Biological Engineering

For full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering on the basis of their achievement and academic ability. Endowed by William L. Kjelgaard in honor of William L. and James F. Kjelgaard.

Kim L. Masser Memorial Scholarship in Biological Engineering and Agricultural Systems Management

For U.S. citizens who are undergraduate students majoring or planning to major in Agricultural Systems Management or Biological Engineering. Endowed by Sterman E. and Geraldine F. Masser and family in memory of Kim L. Masser.

Kim L. Masser Memorial Trustee Matching Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State University Park who have a demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students who are enrolled in the Biological Engineering major who have a demonstrated financial need.

Frank W. and Jeanette S. Peikert Scholarship in Agricultural and Biological Engineering and Agricultural Systems Management

For U.S. citizens who are full-time undergraduate students enrolled in Biological Engineering or Agricultural Systems Management and who have at least 5th semester standing. They must be active in the Penn State Branch of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers or the Penn State Agricultural Systems Management Club. Endowed by family and friends of Frank W. Peikert.

George Shute Scholarship in Agricultural and Biological Engineering

For full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the Department of Biological Engineering. Endowed by a charitable gift annuity of George Shute.

Karl A. Snyder Memorial Support Fund for the ASAE Student Branch

The purpose of this endowment shall be to enrich College of Agricultural Sciences, The Pennsylvania State University, by providing monies for the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) Student Chapter within the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering in support of projects, member travel, events that support club member creativity in meeting the objectives of ASABE, and for possible student awards.

James and Arline Weil Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students majoring in Environmental Resource Management or Agricultural Systems Management in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State University Park.

Ray and Jan Evans Scholarship in Agricultural and Biological Engineering

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students majoring in a degree offered by the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering in the College of Agricultural Sciences. First preference shall be given to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership skills and commitment to volunteer service.

Remzi Gurcay and Laura Ehrhart Gurcay Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students majoring in Biological Engineering who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success.

For Doctoral Students

Harold V. and Velma B. Walton Doctoral Student Endowment in Agricultural and Biological Engineering

For full-time graduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the doctoral program of the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering.
