November 2017 commercial-size trials

We performed set of further experiments using our new 50-kW RF kiln in Penn State Forest Resources Laboratory in November 2017.

Commercial-size RF unit installation

50-kW RF/pressurization chamber with auto-loading of wood packaging materials was installed in Forest Resources Laboratory in 2017.

Industrial RF Trials at Forestville NY

RF trials on commercial size wood stacks of mixed white oak, mixed ash and mixed red oaks were performed at a RF vacuum drying unit at Forestville, NY.

RF/MW Trials at Forest Resources Lab

Radio-frequency (RF) and microwave (MW) heating for phytosanitary treatment of green wood in compliance with International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM-15) were evaluated and compared to assess treatment time, depth of electromagnetic wave (EMW) penetration and heating uniformity.
