The Chester County 4-H Dairy Show was held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Romano 4-H Center of Chester County as part of the 4-H Fair Week.

Forty-six dairy animals were exhibited, and 32 4-H youth participated. This year the show was divided by dairy breeds and Judge Christine Williams did an outstanding job placing the animals and giving the 4-H members constructive feedback.

The day started with the showmanship and fitting contests. The judge worked the members and the animals to see how they would hold up under pressure. In the senior age group of 15 and older, Cody Nolan of Cochranville was top showman and top fitter. In the intermediate division of youth 12-14 years old, Annabella Smith of Downingtown was the top showman and Max Teran of West Chester was top fitter. In the junior age division of 9-11 year-olds, Makayla Smith of Downingtown was the top showman and Reid Umble of Parkesburg was the top fitter. In the first-year member over 15 years-old division, congratulations go to Kaylyn Hoffman of Elverson as top showman and fitter. In the first-year member 8-14 years-old division, top honors go to Eliana Kerner of Birdsboro for best showman and Eliana Teran of West Chester as best fitter.

In the Red and White show, honors go to Emma Dechert of Pottstown with her junior 2-year-old cow, Coffee Brook Ginger Red, who was named the Grand Champion. Lily Bramm of Pottstown had the Reserve Grand Champion with her Junior 2-year-old, Bramm Rager Carmel-Red, which was also the Best Bred and Owned animal. Shown by Kerri Davis of Christiana, One-Way McDonald 156 Red was named the Junior Champion, while Emma Dechert's spring calf, Coffee-Brook Raven-Red, was named Reserve Junior Champion.

In the Lineback breed, winter calf, French Creek Top Daffodil-Red, shown by Scott Sollenberger of Pottstown, was awarded Grand Champion. Spring calf, Pocopson-Meadow Nerve Nolan, shown by Eliana Teran of West Chester, was awarded Reserve Grand Champion.

In the Ayrshire Breed, Makayla Smith of Downingtown had the Junior Champion with her summer yearling, Dreamnol Passion Brynn, and Savannah Nolan of Nottingham had the Reserve Junior Champion with her winter calf, Stone Spring Hot Takis. Grand Champion went to Junior 2-year-old, Dreamnol Kingsire Mahogany, shown by Luke Nolan of Cochranville while Tyler Parsons of West Chester had the Reserve Grand Champion with his 4-year-old, Pocopson Meadow FB Alberta. Tyler's cow, Pocopson Meadow FB Alberta, was also the best Bred and Owned Ayrshire.

In the Brown Swiss breed, Grand Champion honors go to Senior 2-year-old, Round Hill Seaman Witlee-ETV shown by Jacob Pinciotti of Elverson. Lily Bramm had the Reserve Grand Champion and Junior Champion with her fall calf, Kulp-Gen Skyhigh Daphne. Winter yearling, Udderconfusion SPD Olga NP, shown by Ava Kaskela of West Chester, was Reserve Junior Champion.

In the Guernsey Breed, Tyler Parsons had the Grand Champion with his aged cow, Glen V DF Camille, Scott Sollenberger's fall calf, French Creek Ernie Helen, was the Junior Champion.

In the Holstein Breed, the Junior Champion was spring calf, Preble-Lane Kingboy Astro, shown by Sophie Griswold of Chadds Ford. Melissa Griswold of Chadds Ford had the Reserve Junior Champion with Preble-Lane DL Reigh. Melissa Griswold also had the Grand Champion Holstein with her Junior 2-year-old, Preble-Lane Cheers Rey, while Sophie Griswold had the Reserve Grand Champion with her junior 2-year-old, Preble Land Cheers Aura. Melissa's Preble-Lane Cheers Rey was also named Best Bred and Owned animal in the Holstein breed.

In the Jersey Breed, Jenna Barbosa of Thornton had the Junior Champion and the Reserve Grand Champion with her fall calf, PMF Colton Polly, while JX Hidden Brook LH Ivana, shown by Marieana Walker of Pottstown, was the Reserve Junior Champion. Max Teran's senior 2-year-old Pocopson Meadow Farm Matt Poinsettia was the Grand Champion.

The judge selected Emma Dechert's Red and White Holstein, Coffee Brook Ginger, as the Supreme Champion of show.

The Chester County 4-H Dairy Round-Up was one of the many shows that took place during the Chester County 4-H Fair Week, held August 7-12, 2023 at the Romano 4-H Center of Chester County along Route 322 in West Brandywine Township.
