The Chester County 4-H Program is seeking new volunteers and 4-H clubs!

4-H is a youth development program for youth ages 5 to 18. Volunteers are essential to our program and allow you to share your hobbies with interested youth. Projects can be as varied as sewing, arts and crafts, cooking, animal science, outdoor adventures, and more. 4-H volunteer opportunities range from coordinating monthly club meetings to leading one-time activities and projects. Whatever you have to offer, 4-H has a place for you!

A signature Penn State Extension program, the Pennsylvania 4-H Youth Development program provides 78,800 youth participants with fun and exciting learning opportunities that help them develop the critical life skills they need to contribute to their communities as children and adults. This effort is supported by 6,950 adult volunteers.

The Chester County volunteer recruitment campaign hopes to reach out to caring adult volunteers who will give their time to the county's youth through 4-H. "We hope to expand the 4-H program to our local youth by recruiting adults to volunteer with the 4-H program," said Toni Stuetz, Extension Educator for the Chester County 4-H Youth Development Program. "Not only are volunteers necessary to engage with youth, but they are a positive example for the children around them. When our 4-H members see us actively engaging in our communities, they will understand why it is so important for them to do the same as adults."

New volunteers and youth members are always welcome to join the 4-H program. For more information on how to join or start a 4-H club, please contact the 4-H Office at ChesterExt@psu.edu or 610-696-3500.
