The 2023 Chester County 4-H Fair is off to a strong start as 275 tabletop projects were submitted and judged as part of the project Round-Up on August 7th.

The 4-H members exhibited projects that included sewing and baking, woodworking, plants, fruits and vegetables, cut flowers and herbs, expressive arts, leadership logs, club officer's books and more. A fun addition was a creating category to make Derby hats or decorated horseshoes.

  • A few of the top sewing winners were Nidhi Suchindra, Aniuta Gupta and Megan Johnson for pillows, Nidhi Suchindra for a dress, and Megan Johnson for a Christmas stocking.
  • Olivia Prince's wood tool box received Grand Champion recognition and Xavier Reith, Matthew Cross and Megan Johnson all won blue ribbons for their woodworking plant press projects.
  • Melissa Johnson won a Grand Champion recognition in the Dairy Goat Project posters.
  • Giana Kopec's French Macaroons was the judges' favorite earning a grand champion ribbon. Nidhi Suchindra's Strawberry Leche cake was a close 2nd receiving a Reserve Champion Ribbon
  • David Gober won several blue ribbons for his Horse record books.

This year a horseshoe decorating contest was added for fun and Jazz Sapp's horseshoe was the judges' favorite with Reserve Champion accolades going to Caroline Sharp. Northern Chester County Horse Club and Black Diamond Dairy Goat Clubs received top honor among the 10 club display entries.

The tabletop exhibits are open now through Saturday, August 12th and the public are encouraged to visit and see these or any of the live animal shows happening now through Saturday.
