Cab Evaluation is part of the ASM 420 lab taught by Dr. Jude Liu.
Jude Liu has been teaching the ASM 420 lab for 10 years and is always encouraged to see how students continue to enjoy this course. There are 22 seniors this year who are majoring in BE, BRS, and ME. Penn State's Farm Operations provided three of the tractors to help with the Cab Evaluation lab. The New Holland T7 is provided by CNH for our education activities.
ASM 420 is required for the Off-Road Equipment minor. This course teaches principles of off-road machines. The Cab Evaluation lab is for the first section of this course: ergonomics and safety in the design of worker's station. This allows students to observe and measure tractor cab design features, so they understand how to design and evaluate tractor cabs when they work as design or test engineers or field machine managers.
