Club that offers a variety of projects, including Livestock & Breeding (Beef, Swine, Sheep, Goat, Poultry, Rabbit), Dairy, Food and Nutrition, Textile Science, Dog, Pet Care, Rocketry, Beekeeping, Wildlife, Leadership, Vegetable and Flower Gardening, Arts & Crafts, Photography, Shooting Sports (Archery, Air Rifle), etc.
Members
Members are 5 - 18 from all over Westmoreland County.
Meetings
Meetings are held at the Chestnut Ridge Community Center, 1575 Route 259, Ligonier, PA 15658 at 6:30 p.m.
General meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month from February through October.
Cloverbud meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from March through August.
Activities
Members have the opportunity to complete a variety of projects and many fun activities such as group cooking projects, sewing projects, rockets, arts & crafts, tie-dying, game nights, and much more. We have volunteer from all of Westmoreland County come speak at our club meetings. We participate in the Derry Township Ag Fair, the Westmoreland Fair, and the Ligonier Chamber of Commerce Scarecrow Contest. In addition, we volunteer time with community service projects like PA Cleanways/Adopt-A-Highway along Route 259, local nursing home outreach, Matson Farms Agricultural Appreciation Day, collaboration with the Rotary Club of Ligonier, and a 4-H Bake Sale with the local volunteer fire company.
