The beauty of the Courthouse Gardens are a collaboration between the Westmoreland Conservation District with support from the Westmoreland County Commissioners, and the Penn State Master Gardeners of Westmoreland County, who have been involved for over 20 years.
If you've ever driven past the Westmoreland County Courthouse on North Main Street in Greensburg from May to September you probably noticed the gorgeous flowers spilling out of the concrete planters, providing color and beauty to the Courthouse Plaza and behind the Courthouse.
Throughout the summer season, Penn State Extension trained Master Gardener volunteers plant, weed, and prune the gardens to keep them vibrant and growing for everyone to enjoy.
During the warmer months, Penn State Master Gardeners offer monthly Lunch and Learn sessions. Check out our Facebook page to stay up-to-date.
If you aren't familiar with these beds, drive by sometime and enjoy the colorful flowers. You'll be glad you did!
