Welcome to the Demonstration Gardens in Warren County. The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Warren County have two demonstration gardens. There is a pollinator and identification garden at Betts Park. You can find this one as you walk the trail around the park. In this garden, you can find QR codes to scan for plant information. There is also a Demonstration Garden in Russell at the First Methodist Church, that is made up of various beds taken care of by different people. This amounts to an extensive amount of variation -- plenty to explore.
Walk through our garden using your phone to activate the QR codes on the plant labels. Use your camera on your smart phone to look at the QR code and a notification will appear at the top of the screen asking you to follow a link. At this link, you can learn about our plants we have showcased.
This garden is found off a beautiful walking trail in Betts Park that follows the Allegheny River. The garden was designed by a former Master Gardener and friend Bill Blumquist.
The Russell Demonstration Garden is located in a beautiful back corner section of the Russell United Methodist Church property in Russell, Pa. It has raised beds filled to the brim with a variety of plants. Each bed has a different keeper who decided what to plant in the bed. There are beautiful flowers, many native Pennsylvania plants, as well as a pizza garden. Stop by to check out the tranquil gardening spot.
