The Fred Lewis Daylily Garden was started by Fred Lewis and is located on the Locust Grove Campus of the Montrose Bible Conference. The garden is seeing new life thanks to a partnership between the Montrose Bible Conference and the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Susquehanna County.

The idea for the garden, initiated in 1991 by Fred Lewis, was to plant daylilies in an unused vegetable garden bed on the Conference grounds which bordered Fred's property. Before his departure from the area, when combined with Fred's home garden, the collection of daylilies had grown to over 10,000. These daylilies were species Fred traded with other daylily enthusiasts or hybridized himself.

Over time, the lack of manpower and deer predation left the garden needing attention. In the spring of 2019, the Montrose Bible Conference partnered with the Master Gardeners to revitalize Fred's Daylily Garden and add walking paths and fencing. Visitors to the Montrose Bible Conference each summer can view the daylilies in full bloom late June - July. Fred's Daylily Garden is open to the public to enjoy the splendor of the daylilies that Fred loved so much.
