Quality Animal Management (QAM) is becoming Club-Level Education! 2024-25 will be the last 4-H program year in which QAM is taught as a stand-alone training program, as well as the last year in which it's explicitly called "QAM".
Quality Animal Management Volunteer and Educator Training
Quality Animal Management (QAM) Training for Volunteers and educators will be offered virtually on October 30 at 7 p.m. Pre-registration in ZSuite is required. This training will be recorded. Note: This is Not a youth QAM Training! As they did last year, volunteers will deliver QAM in-person in the club setting. There will be no virtual QAM Training for youth.
4-H Animal Science Club-Level Education Project
Quality Animal Management (QAM) is becoming Club-Level Education! 2024-25 will be the last 4-H program year in which QAM is taught as a stand-alone training program, as well as the last year in which it's explicitly called "QAM." After the 24-25 year, QAM topics will be incorporated into a series of species-specific, grab-and-go lessons for use by volunteers at the club level. The 4-H program is making this change in response to the changing needs of packers and other local youth livestock sale partners—most of whom are no longer requiring a trackable QAM program. It's important to note that QAM education isn't going away, as education on animal science topics will be happening at club meetings year-round. Questions about the QAM transition?
