State Council presents their 4-H Opportunities webinar in July
This month Pennsylvania 4-H State Council did preparations for upcoming events such as SLC Jr. and SLC (State Leadership Conference). Besides preparing for many exciting upcoming events, Council presented a statewide 4-H Opportunities Webinar on July 21st. State Council encourages all 4-H'ers to keep writing thank you notes to first responders as part of Pennsylvania 4-H's statewide service project. Soon to announced will be the statewide theme for the year as well. Be on the lookout on social media for the release of the theme and on the happenings of the Council.
Jillian Ranko- Butler County, President
This month, Jillian had the opportunity to present a statewide 4-H Opportunities Webinar on July 21st with her Council team via Zoom. Jillian spent two hours writing thank you cards to first responders to help with the statewide service project. With great excitement, Jillian will be moving into Penn State's University Park campus in just a few days. She is very excited to say that she finally has everything prepared for this new endeavor.
Audrey Ferrie- Warren County, Vice President of Operations
This month Audrey had the opportunity to present a statewide 4-H Opportunities Webinar on July 21st with her Council team via Zoom. Audrey recruited Warren County 4-H members to submit pictures and video clips of what members have been up to throughout the year. She took all of the pictures and video clips and made five videos to highlight the members throughout what would have been fair week. Each day of fair, she posted a video to display the members' hard work with their projects. Through these videos, Audrey connected with her 4-H educator to help gather pictures and videos of 4-H'ers across her county. Finally, Audrey had a Zoom interview with the newspaper to promote the videos and the vision behind it.
Amanda Hollabaugh- Adams County, Vice President of Events
Amanda had the opportunity to present a statewide 4-H Opportunities Webinar on July 21st with her Council team via Zoom, and present a 4-H promotional presentation to Adams County Food Policy Council Community. Also, Amanda attended the Virtual Ag Progress Days presentation by Dean Roush and Secretary Russell Redding. Amanda worked on writing thank you cards to first responders during virtual 4-H camp. Amanda made contacts with several of her surrounding county educators due to facilitating virtual camp.
Laurie Enders-Armstrong County, Secretary
Laurie had the opportunity to present a statewide 4-H Opportunities Webinar on July 21st with her Council team via Zoom. Also, Laurie has had the opportunity to help work with the Cloverbud Career Opportunities Camp. A personal accomplishment for Laurie this month was preparing for college and earning her first paycheck.
Alyssa Neff- Dauphin County, Reporter and Historian
This month Alyssa had the opportunity to present a statewide 4-H Opportunities Webinar on July 21st with her Council team via Zoom. A personal accomplishment for Alyssa was finishing her Fair Queen Farewell speech for her retirement as the 2019 Elizabethtown Fair Queen. Alyssa had made contacts with a couple of local schools in her county so that she can promote 4-H as part of one of State Council's goals.
