This summer, 4-H members from across the state had the opportunity to participate in a variety of animal science contests. The contests are designed to provide an educational experience, develop self-confidence and encourage decision making.
Newly added this year, youths ages 10-13 were eligible to compete in the junior division, providing younger 4-H'ers the opportunity to participate in state-level events, while stimulating their interest in various project areas and motivating them to continue their participation in the 4-H program. Selected participants in the senior division qualify to represent the Pennsylvania 4-H program in these events at their respective national contests.
