Workshop Topics

This training prepares plan writers in developing nutrient management plans that meet the requirements of Act 38 and provide a beneficial tool to farmers to manage their manure and fertilizer nutrients.

Participants will use information from a sample farm to develop a nutrient management plan. This includes:

  • Identifying manure groups
  • Calculating manure inventories
  • Planning crop yields
  • Nutrient recommendations
  • Allocating manure to crops to meet nutrient requirements

Prerequisites

Completion of the Managing Manure Nutrients Workshop is a prerequisite for this training. Participation in this workshop is a prerequisite for the Plan Review Workshop.

Registration

Registration is required for all Pennsylvania Nutrient Management Specialist Certification trainings. Walk-ins will not be accepted. Registration closes one week prior to the training date.
