PennState Extension Philadelphia Master Gardeners volunteer in all neighborhoods on a range of gardening and environmental projects and programs. We specialize in edible gardens, pollinator habitats, soil health, indoor plants, integrated pest management, youth gardens and more.
Who are Master Gardeners?
The Philadelphia Master Gardener volunteer program supports the outreach mission of PennState Extension by utilizing unbiased research-based information to educate the public and our communities on best practices in sustainable horticulture and environmental stewardship.
After completing training, Master Gardeners help Extension serve the gardening public by answering questions, speaking to groups, writing gardening articles, working with youth, gardening in the demonstration gardens, participating in a range of citizen science research programs, and in many other ways.
If you would like to request a Philadelphia Master Gardener to speak at an event or need horticultural help, email PhiladelphiaMG@psu.edu.
