Empowering youth to be the leaders of tomorrow is one of the most crucial responsibilities that we have as adults.
The youth who are participants in the Pennsylvania 4-H program truly embody the spirit of leadership that is needed in the world today. The positive youth development experiences that the 4-H program provides to youth through the work of 4-H Educators and dedicated volunteers is helping to shape the world that we live in.
Participation in 4-H is an opportunity for youth to develop critical thinking, teamwork and leadership skills. 4-H focuses on growing the whole person through hands-on learning opportunities that develops the head, heart, hands and health of the youth participants. Here is just one success story among many:
"I had the chance to represent Pennsylvania 4-H at National 4-H Conference this past March. I was able to spend five days in, or adjacent to, Washington D.C. with fellow 4-H'ers from across the country. Meeting so many other 4-H members and learning about their state's unique program was fascinating. Attending Conference taught me so much about teamwork, time management, conflict resolution, and how to advocate for 4-H.
