Residential Camp
Schuylkill County 4-H joins 4 additional neighboring counties to host a five-day camping experience that will provide youth with the opportunity to learn about nature, meet new friends, gain responsibility, and learn to live and work with others while having fun. Workshops offered at camp include: nature, recreation, crafts, shooting sports and lake front activities. Other activities are campfires, hikes, skits, and swimming. Currently 4-H camp is held at Seven Mountains Scout Camp in Spring Mills, PA. Our camp counselors are 4-H teens ages 14-18 which have been pre-selected and provided training.

School Enrichment and Afterschool Programs
There's no easier way to bring experiential learning to your classroom or afterschool program than with 4-H curriculum. These programs are teacher friendly, hands-on and ready to use in the classroom.
Whether you are a classroom teacher, afterschool site coordinator, a homeschool parent, or a school age child care facility, 4-H curriculum is an easy way to incorporate hands-on learning to your lessons. Consider utilizing 4-H curriculum for your education needs as 4-H curriculum meets PA Academic Standards and includes many interactive lessons that educators and students enjoy. Educators receive curriculum guides with lessons plans, project materials, and hands-on activities to help their class learn and grow.
Some popular curricula that are currently being used in Schuylkill County schools and afterschool programs are:
- Rockets Away (Newton's Law)
- Embryology & chick hatching
- Meet the Plants
- Catch the Bug (entomology)
- EcoBot Challenge (environmental engineering)
- Up for the Challenge (exercise and healthy living)
- Rain to Drain (water conservation)
- Cloverbud Kits #1 & #2 (numerous activities for ages 5-8)
- Health Rocks (healthy lifestyle)
Schuylkill County 4-H is currently in the process of developing an Ag Literacy classroom kit to add to our programming options.

County Fair
Schuylkill County 4-H partners with the Schuylkill County Fair Association which allows our members to showcase their talent and project completion. The fair is the culmination of the 4-H project year for Schuylkill County 4-H members. This is their opportunity to show their families, friends, and the public their achievements throughout the year. During the week of the county fair, our animal science 4-H members have their animals on display and proudly show them and answer questions. Other 4-H clubs also have their projects on display for the public and are also on hand to promote 4-H and their clubs.
