Established in 1977, Backtrackers 4-H Horse & Pony Club is open to all youths interested in horses, whether an owner or not. The club meets year-round on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month, usually in Danielsville, at leader Jan Martin's home. The club's emphasis is on keeping the member safe, sound, and sensible around horses without breaking mom and dad's pocketbook. The goal is to promote knowledge and safety, plus encourage public speaking, hippology, horse bowl, and other 4-H activities. Members are encouraged to become more involved in 4-H than just at the club level, with many attending district, state and national events.
