Several Lehigh County 4-H Dairy Club members proudly exhibited their animals at the Kutztown Fair on August 10, 2021. 4-H members spend time year-round working with their animals to prepare them for their exhibition at the fair. The 4-H project animals receive tender loving care of regular baths, brushing, training, and walks. Cattle even get regular haircuts and hoof trimmings to feel and look their best!

The hard work paid off for four members of the Lehigh County 4-H Dairy Club at the Kutztown Fair this year. Competing against many other high quality 4-H exhibitors, the Lehigh County members earned second place for their Club Herd. Club members include Olivia and Logan Wisser from New Tripoli and Levi and Samuel Lazarus from Schnecksville. They chose the best 4 animals from their classes for the day and entered them in the Club Herd group class.

The Lehigh County 4-H Dairy Club welcomes youth ages 8-18 to learn about cattle and the dairy industry. Members do not need to have or show an animal. However, club members do get to work with animals and learn about cows and heifers and what they eat, how to keep them healthy, and experience the many delicious dairy products they produce. Come learn about cows in 4-H, as we start a new 4-H year this fall!
