Adams County Clubs

There are three types of 4-H clubs in Adams County: Community Clubs, Animal Clubs, and Special Interest Clubs.

A community club typically meets once a month and offers a variety of projects. Members choose one or more of the projects offered by the leaders in their club.

Animal clubs focus solely on one specific animal. Some of the clubs are “market” animal clubs, meaning the animal is raised, then shown and sold at county fair. Other animal clubs do not end the year with a sale. Those clubs focus on learning about the characteristics, health, and care of the animal.

Special Interest Clubs focus on learning one project or skill. These are typically a “countywide” club, meaning there may be only one club in the county that offers a particular project.

  • An adult club leader as point of contact with the 4-H Educator
  • A minimum of 2 screened adult volunteers
  • Hold regular educational meetings

Contact your county 4-H educator to discuss the process of developing a new club.
