The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Wyoming County recently recognized the contributions of several volunteers. In 2023, eight volunteers completed the Basic Training Course, scored above 80% on the midterm and final exams, and collectively contributed over 400 volunteer hours in Wyoming County. Congratulations to these newly Certified Master Gardeners: Maegan Coolbaugh, Gregg Keen, Courtney Leaidicker, Julie McDermott, Julie Orloski, Sarah Stegner, David Whitham, and Kris Whitham.

The Master Gardener Program is growing in Wyoming County, welcoming the following individuals for the 2023-2024 Basic Training Course: Maggy Hanlon, Barbara Harper, Jessica Jayne, Tim Jayne, Dorothea Kupstas, Amanda Lawrence, and Robin Pascoe. With the addition of these trainees, Wyoming County has 27 active Master Gardener volunteers, representing the County program's largest volunteer base since its founding in 1991.

While the Master Gardeners have put their gardens to rest for the winter, they are busy planning programs for Spring 2024. The Master Gardeners will once again offer the six-class Seed to Supper beginner adult vegetable gardening program at the Tunkhannock Public Library, organize the 5th Annual Community Seed Exchange Event in partnership with the Dietrich Theater, present a "Spring Into Gardening" workshop at Keystone College on April 20, and debut Wyoming County's first Seed Library.

Communities and organizations interested in partnering with the Master Gardeners for a program, project, or presentation are encouraged to contact Melissa Wright, Master Gardener Coordinator, at 570-836-3196 or wyomingmg@psu.edu.
