The 2,800 square foot garden features hundreds of native pollinator plants, and is a vibrant learning environment for students, professors, and classes from many disciplines. The garden is maintained by Penn State Master Gardeners with the help of students and college staff, and hands-on learning opportunities are enhanced by workshops and classes hosted by Master Gardeners for both the college and Carlisle communities. This unique partnership with Dickinson College includes Penn State Master Gardener use of the college greenhouse and a classroom to supplement these educational activities. The garden is currently being expanded to include a new 1,295 square foot area to create an herb garden for the students, feature more shrubs for birds, and incorporate pollinator perennials to tie in with the rest of the garden.
