The volunteer training course is designed to provide anyone interested in gardening with information and skills they need to share their experience and knowledge with others. There is a program fee to cover the cost of training materials and expenses, and classes are going to be held weekly from October 3 to March 27. This year's course will be taught online through Zoom meetings and scheduled in-person sessions.

In exchange for 40 hours of instruction, candidates must agree to volunteer 50 hours to Penn State Cooperative Extension. Volunteer activities can include a Poison Prevention Education Program for local first-graders, answering garden questions during the weekly "Garden Hotline" phone-in-sessions and seasonal "Garden Day" programs with educational presentations on current gardening topics. Anyone interested in becoming a Master Gardener or learning more about the program is encouraged to contact the Penn State Extension office in Ebensburg by calling 814-472-7986 or emailing at cambriamg@psu.edu.
