Penn State Soil, Water, and Manure Test Kits

Residents may obtain these kits from our office during regular business hours: Monday through Thursday, 8 AM - 5 PM (closed 12-1 PM; closed Friday).

• Soil kits are a nominal fee, payable by check, money order, or cash (exact amount appreciated).
• There is no cost to pick up a water or manure test kit; payment for these is sent along with the sample to the lab.

Outside of normal hours, residents may continue to obtain soil, water, and manure test kits from the totes located at the bottom of the lower-level ramp on the left from our building parking lot at 1000 Third Street, Beaver PA 15009.

• Soil testing: Each separate area to be tested requires a separate sample bag, form, and payment mailed together to the lab. Be sure to take an instruction sheet and enough sample bags & forms for your needs.
  • Example: Testing soil for a home lawn and a wildlife food plot will require mailing two uniquely labeled soil samples, a completed green form, a completed yellow form, and check or money order for the fee to the lab.
• Water and manure testing: Each of these kits contains all forms & instructions in the box for mailing samples and payment to the lab.
  • There are 4 different water test kit options: Drinking, Pond/Lake, Livestock, and Irrigation. Please take only the kit that is appropriate for your situation. Please review the instructions carefully for drawing a water sample and submitting it to the lab, as time constraints apply.
  • Due to tote size, the number of water and manure kits that can be made available is very limited. Please call 724-774-3004 if the kit you need is not available.
