Lebanon County 4-H’ers returned laden with honors from the State 4-H Animal Science contests held in May and June at Penn State University. Youth enrolled in the 4-H program from throughout the state competed in events designed to develop self-confidence and increase skills in selected 4-H project areas.

Local youth were among more than 200 4-H'ers from across the state who participated in several 4-H animal science judging and skill contests. Participants, ages 10-18, selected from among several animal science project areas including Dairy, Horse, Livestock and Poultry. Newly added this year, youths ages 10-13 were eligible to compete in the junior division, providing younger 4-H'ers the opportunity to participate in state-level events, while stimulating their interest in various project areas and motivating them to continue their participation in the 4-H program.
