This was the first year Lebanon County had a team competing in this contest for over 30 years. Contestants had to analyze 100 potatoes to determine if they were eligible for U.S. Grade A designation, inspect 40 potatoes to identify 20 different possible defects, and judge two classes of four displays of potatoes to rank them in order. The team members all agree that they learned a lot of new things and it was a good experience being in the judging contest. The A team got 5th place and the B team got 11th.
