The Penn State Extension 4-H program in Lebanon County honored members and leaders for project achievement and service during 4-H Achievement Night held October 7, 2019 at the Lebanon Valley Agricultural Center.

Penn State Extension honors 4-H members and leaders

PA Clover Awards recognize member achievement at six levels for leadership life skills including communication, decision making & problem solving, getting along with others, learning to learn, managing, understanding self, and working in groups. The following members received Clover pins and county t-shirts for their achievements.

Level 1- Green Clover Awards:

Shyanne Colwell, Mason Copenhaver, Paige Copenhaver, Lilly Fisher, Caitlyn Hess, Derek Hess, Autumn Martin, Jinger Martin, Jacob Tiffany, Madalyn Troutman, Brooklyn VanBrunt, and, Riley Werner.

Level 2- White Clover Awards:

Madison Copenhaver, Clarke Helms, Teresa Helms, Chase Hess, Carolyn Troutman, Jocelyn Troutman

Level 3- Bronze Clover Awards:

Travis Allen, Olivia Morressey, Caryn Thurman, Evelyn Troutman, Madison VanBrunt

Level 4- Silver Clover Awards:

The 4-H Leader Salute to Excellence Award

recognizes outstanding commitment to a local 4-H club and the community through the dedication, enthusiasm and quality performance of an adult volunteer 4-H Leader. The 2019 Lebanon County 4-H Spirit award was awarded to Linda Siegel, a 4-H leader in the 4-H Friends Club. Linda has been a 4-H Leader for the twenty years and serves and the club organizational leader in addition to teaching projects in leadership and clothing and textiles.

Linda Siegel was awarded the 2019 Lebanon County 4-H Salute to Excellence Award for her dedication and support of the 4-H Program during 4-H Achievement Night held at the Lebanon Valley Agricultural Center in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

The 4-H Club Salute to Excellence Award

was presented to members and leaders from the Hoof & Horns 4-H Club. This club with 20 members focuses on the horse project and develops members skills related to equine science. One of the club's favorite activities is participating with their horses and miniature horses in the Lebanon Holiday Parade and the Annville Memorial Day Parade.

4-H County Officer Awards

were presented on the county level for outstanding member achievement at the local club level. The award recipients included:

  • President - Sydnie Schaffer, Saddle Up 4-H Club;
  • Vice-President - Jolene Bomgardner, 4-H Friends Club;
  • Secretary - Hayden Best, Saddle Up 4-H Club;
  • Treasurer- Lizzie Kreider, 4-H Friends Club; and,
  • Game Leader- Olivia Morrissey, 4-H Friends Club.

Gold Honors Group at regional Fashion & Textile Revue

Awards were presented to 4-H members who placed in the revue, including:

Junior Division members - Madison Copenhaver, Grace Flickinger, Autumn Martin, Olivia Morrissey, Mackenzie Stellmach, Riley Werner

Senior Division members - Jolene Bomgardner, Leah Roop, Olivia Thorpe, Sierra Tice, Hope Wagner, and Lyndsy Zechman.

Teen leadership project awards

were presented to the following members: Jolene Bomgardner, Alex DeMackiewicz, Sarah DeMaciewicz, Keegan Donaher, Teresa Helms, Lizzie Kreider, Carleigh Matz, Travis Matz, Alex Nazarchuk, Kyle Nazarchuk, Olivia Thorpe, and Evelyn Troutman.

State Program awards

were presented to the following members:

  • Presentation Contest - Kyle Nazarchuk;
  • Small Animal Essay Contest - Justine Geyer;
  • Photography Contest - Keegan Donaher and Kayla Donaher.

Adult 4-H Volunteer Leaders recognition for years of service

  • Linda Siegel, 4-H Friends Club organizational leader, received recognition for 20 years of service and
  • Kitty Zackey, 4-H Friends Club quilting project leader, received special recognition for 25 years of service.
