Our Clubs

Lawrence County 4-H Clubs

4-H Clubs are an organized group of youth (ages 5-18), led by a minimum of two screened adult volunteers, with a planned educational program and purpose. 4-H Clubs are an opportunity for members to explore interest areas in partnership with caring adults and peers. Meeting times and project areas vary by each 4-H Club.

4-H Cloverbuds: Exploring Farm Animals

In PA 4-H, Cloverbuds are members 5- to 7-year-olds (as of January 1).  Like the 4-H program for older youth, the Cloverbud program can help youngsters grow into competent, caring, and contributing members of their families and communities. The program offers noncompetitive, age-appropriate activities designed to help children learn about life.

In this club, Cloverbuds learn about different animal projects offered in Lawrence County.  They will meet each month to focus on a different animal science project, completing an activity to expand their knowledge of the specific species. 

4-H Teen Council

Focused on learning leadership and civic engagement, the Lawrence County 4-H Teen Council is the club that unites all clubs.  4-H Teen Council meets the 2nd Thursday of every month in Ellwood City, PA.  The 4-H Teen Council is active with planning county-wide events and activities that promote 4-H, while building their own leadership skills.

This multi-species 4-H Club allows members to participate in a variety of livestock projects.  Members will be together for the business portion and then split into different groups for more individualized training in their specific project area(s).

4-H is all about exploration! If you do not see a project or a club that looks like the right fit, you can start a new club.

4-H Clubs require:

• At least 5 youth (from at least two families)
• An adult club leader as point of contact with the 4-H Educator
• A minimum of 2 screened adult volunteers
• Hold regular educational meetings
