Shooting Sports Clubs
These clubs focus on shooting sports, such as air rifle, BB, and archery. 4-H leaders maintain their instructor certification through the 4-H Shooting Sports training. Regional, state, and national events offer opportunities for members to demonstrate their skills. Both clubs meet at the Outdoor Sportsman Club in Bellefonte, PA.

Members can choose from horseless and model horse projects, performance projects (focused on riding), production projects (focused on the training of young horses), endurance and trail-riding, and gaming. In some cases, the club may offer the 4-H Cloverbud Horse project, which introduces youth ages 5-7 to horses in a safe, caring manner. Members can also participate in competitive events, like horse judging and horse bowl, which offer national opportunities if they qualify at the state level. A county horse show takes place each year, in which members can qualify to progress to the district and state horse show. There really is something to appeal to horse lovers of all kinds!

Robotics Clubs
Centre County 4-H offers a robust robotics and STEM program. The clubs are organized as teams and offer programming to various age levels (see below). The middle school and high school teams work with the FIRST Robotics program, which is a national organization that promotes the development of life skills and involves designing and building robots. The teams have the opportunity to compete in FIRST Robotics events, starting at the regional level and progressing up to the global level. The elementary team introduces youth to robotics and STEM programming with the Lego robotics project. At this level, youth focus on team-building and developing foundational skills they will need before progressing to the other teams. These clubs are very active and the program is rigorous, but extremely rewarding!
