Job Title: Conservation/GIS Specialist
Department: Environmental Consulting Services
Reports to: Environmental Consulting Services Manager (Jedd Moncavage)

SUMMARY
Assist agricultural producers with the development of Manure Management and Agricultural E&S Plans for compliance with baseline DEP regulations. Facilitate the development of a GIS database for the tracking of TeamAg clients and projects. As skill sets develop more responsibilities will be added. Compensation will be commensurate as skill levels increase.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Initial: Assist farmers with the development and implementation of Manure Management Plans and Agricultural Erosion & Sedimentation Control Plans. These plans are normally required by the state for baseline compliance of animal operations. Perform field visits to farm and collect required information, develop GIS based maps, complete soil loss calculations and develop corresponding planning (no certification required, internal training will be provided).

Secondary: Work with TeamAg staff and management to develop a georeferenced framework to track existing and future clients and projects to better manage data and facilitate continuous improvements projects for targeted geographic areas, watersheds or with specific agencies outside of TeamAg

Developmental Goals: obtain Act 38 certification for the development of Nutrient Management Plans and Odor Management Plans (training courses and testing provided by PA State Conservation Commission). Develop skills set for completing EPA Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) Permits (no certification required, internal training will be provided).

Job Title: Engineering Technician
This position is with a Lancaster County Agricultural Engineering and Consulting firm working in the Mid‐Atlantic region. Our staff of engineers, nutrient management planners and agronomists provide knowledgeable engineering and consulting services with integrity and professionalism.

Position Description:

Primary focus to perform field work including:
o Engineering surveys of selected projects using GPS survey equipment – New sites, construction stake‐out, as‐builts
o Construction Inspections – Stormwater management structures, manure storage facilities, and best management practices
o Site infiltration testing and soil probes

Secondary focus to provide design engineering assistance including:
o Erosion and Sedimentation (E&S) control plans and reports
o National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit applications, Stormwater

Management plans, and stream encroachment permit applications.
o Manure Storage Certifications and Water Quality Part II (WQPII) permit applications
o Agricultural Best Management Practices

Position Location: Lancaster County, PA

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience: Preference for technical degree or background including surveying or construction experience. Strong interest or background in working on farms. Having ACAD Civil 3D experience is a plus. Must be able to carry equipment up to 50 lbs. Valid driver’s license and willingness to operate a 4‐wheeler.
