Summary
This position is for a mid-career or new electrical/electromechanical engineer graduate in our Blaw Knox engineering department. The position will primarily focus on electrical hardware and wiring harness integration within the asphalt paver platform of products. We are looking for a resource with excellent communication skills that can effectively work with our small, agile, and evolving department. Have the desire and ability to help other functional areas when required.
The ideal candidate should have an interest in off road vehicle electrical and electronic systems. In addition, the candidate should have a solid understanding of electronic systems and be able to work independently. While the position is advertised for an electrical engineer, the job requirements include supporting senior engineers with hardware installations, machine and component level testing and troubleshooting. The candidate should also be familiar with software development tools and other test instruments that support product maintenance and development.
The successful candidate must also realize the importance of customer, production, and quality requirements within product development.

Core Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities for the candidate are:
• Develop electrical designs to meet product maintenance and new product development.
• Coordinate with operations, purchasing and manufacturing on a continuous basis.
• Troubleshoot system level machine and component issues.
• Secure designs that are compliant with standard requirements and industry standards.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for field quality issues.
• Prepare written reports or presentations on completed work.
• Design harness layouts in CREO/PRO-E, build wiring schematics and create supplier drawings. Prototype designs and work with the supplier(s) to optimize design for cost and quality.

Essential Skills and Needed Experience
• 0 - 5 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology. Off – Road equipment minor is preferred but not mandatory. A two-year Mechatronics degree will be considered for the right candidate.
• Attention to detail and focus where the needs of the business are paramount vs. patents and revolutionary ideas.
• Minimum 2 years of work or academic experience in wire harness design, CAN networks, circuit logic (truth tables etc.) both analog and digital.
• Interest and demonstrated successful experience working on heavy duty vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
• Experience in working in an industrial environment. Must have the willingness to work with manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot electromechanical systems.
• Experience in mechanical systems with ability to remove and replace components on a machine.
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English
• Must have the ability to stand for lengthy periods of time and the ability to lift 50 lbs with no restrictions. In addition, the ability to endure hot, dirty and humid environments when troubleshooting and testing machines.
