Project NatureScape Continued...
The last workday at Project NatureScape, a very large area that was completely dominated by Fringed Loosestrife (Lysimachia ciliata) was removed to open up space to provide light for other plants (a chokeberry shrub, anise hyssop, and a butterfly weed plant). Though native to the lower 48 states and its flowers attractive to bees, Fringed Loosestrife can spread aggressively by rhizomes, engulfing nearby plants. The photo shows the section where the Lysimachia was removed. The bags of mulch show the approximate size of the proposed PNS future shed.
