PA 4-H Animal Science Camp allows campers to connect with the science aspects of their 4-H animal science projects.

Counties: PA 4-H Animal Science Camp is open to 4-H members from anywhere in PA.
Location: University Park, PA (held on and around Penn State’s main campus).
Camp dates: May 16-18, 2025
Camper age: 13 to 18
Note: 4-H age is age as of January 1 of the current year.
Each camper chooses one species-focused track for the weekend: Dairy Science, Equine Science, Livestock Science (covering a variety of livestock species), or Small Animal and Wildlife Science.
Campers participate in a series of hands-on science workshops led by Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences faculty, Penn State Extension specialists and educators, and industry professionals. Workshops may involve hands-on work with large animals, anatomy and dissection activities, lab work, and much more. Participants will become familiar with Penn State’s University Park campus, learn about undergraduate majors related to their 4-H projects, and discover careers in the animal sciences and agriculture.
Campers stay in Penn State residence halls (most often with two campers to a room). Meals are provided at University dining hall facilities and on-site at daytime camp locations on and near campus. Campers are supervised by Penn State Extension staff and 4-H volunteers throughout the event.
