ABE Students win awards at NABEC

At this year's Northeast Agricultural and Biological Engineering Conference, which took place on June 17-18th in Altoona, PA, ABE students win awards.

We are happy to announce the following students and their awards:

Gulten Izmirlioglu, First Place on Graduate Student Poster Competition. Her presentation title: Selection of Plastic Composite Support (PCS) for Biofilm Reactors for Ethanol Fermentation. Advised by Dr. Demirci

Stella Maris Sendagi, Second Place on Graduate Student Poster Competition. Her presentation title: Quantifying atmospheric nitrogen (N) losses in tall fescue irrigated with municipal secondary treated effluent. Advised by Dr. Elliott.

Xinmiao Wang, Second Place on Graduate Student Oral Competition.  Her presentation title: Evaluation of Electrolyzed Oxidizing Water for Cleaning-In-Place of On-Farm Milking Systems. Advised by Drs. Demirci, Graves, and Puri.

Jacquelyn Borlawsky, James Coletta, and Carly Wackerman. Undergraduate Student Paper Competition. Their  presentation title: Polyhydroxybutyrate Production from Aerobic Fermentation of Recombinant Escherichia coli.
