Rising to Jim Hilton's challenge

Dr. Jim Hilton, Associate Professor Emeritus, presented a fund-raising challenge this Fall to help support the Agricultural Systems Management and Biological Engineering Leadership and Communications Development Fund.

Dr. Jim Hilton, Associate Professor Emeritus, presented a fund-raising challenge this Fall to help support the Agricultural Systems Management and Biological Engineering Leadership and Communications Development Fund.  He promised a 1:1 match, up to $2000, for every dollar contributed by others towards the fund.  The response was quick and within a couple of months, ABE alums, friends, faculty, and staff contributions reached Jim's goal, providing a total of $4,000 towards the endowment.

The ASM and BE Leadership and Development Fund was established by Dr. Hilton upon his retirement with funds he had helped collect within the department.  He and others have since contributed to help make the endowed program grow.  The annual income from the fund support the instruction of our ASM/BE 391 and 392 courses, which help prepare our students for their professional careers.  Of course, donations for this fund are always welcome, and can be contributed in care of the department.
