Graduate Research Assistants - Mississippi State University

Graduate research assistantship positions for the M.S. or Ph.D. program are available in the Department of Sustainable Bioproducts at Mississippi State University.

The successful candidate will work in highly multidisciplinary research projects and will receive technical training in the broad field of biomass processing, renewable polymers, and the development of organic coatings. The proposed project focuses on the development of novel bio-based hybrid materials for functional coatings and adhesives. The results of this project are expected to find applications of lignocellulosic biomass for wood and polymer industries.

The candidate should have:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in wood science/products, chemical engineering, materials science & engineering, agricultural engineering, chemistry, or closely related disciplines relevant to the topics of the study
  • Maintained good academic standing
  • GRE test report and TOEFL 79+ or IELTS 6.5 (required for international students only)

The Department of Sustainable Bioproducts will support this project on funding, which will cover graduate student’s stipend, tuition waiver, and health insurance. The target starting date is Summer semester or Fall semester in 2018. Review of the applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
