to expand our position as a national leader for engineering and technical management for biological and agricultural engineering. To do that we will need to better position ourselves to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century. In many ways these challenges will lead to great opportunities. Great opportunities for our graduates. Great opportunities for innovation. And great opportunities to lead the advances in research and technology.
is to come up with innovative solutions to meet the world's demand for food, fuel and fiber in sustainable ways. In doing this, we need to address these key issues:
- How can we best replace oil and coal with clean, renewable energy?
- How can we best protect our natural resources?
- How can we continue to meet the world's growing demand for safe food?
- We believe we can meet these challenges with the right support.
are many due to our history in providing education, research and extension in innovative systems and engineering solutions for food, machinery systems, structures and environmental controls, natural resources and microbial/biological engineering and more.
New opportunities are being presented in nanotechnology and molecular and synthetic biology which will be effectively integrated into our teaching and research.
is to raise funds to refurbish our existing building or to secure a new modern facility to provide the high-tech classrooms our future students will require and the necessary research labs and resources to attract competitive grants and other funding to match our vision, challenges and opportunities.
We need you to be a part of these plans. If you would like to contribute to the future of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Penn State, please consider making a gift to our building fund.
If you would like to donate to the project please go to the ABE Building Project donation site.
